As we all know ‘Jigarthanda’ which was supposed to release on July
25 and even paper promotions had started for the same. However the
film’s release has been postponed by its producer Kathiresan, due to
undisclosed reasons.
Director Ram faced the same kind of
situation that ‘Jigarthanda’ director Karthik Subbaraj is in today. The former’s ambitious project ‘Thangameenkal’ which went on to win various
awards including three National awards was announced to release on July
26, 2013 and even paper ads had appeared for the same. However the film
had to be postponed at the last minute and Ram known for his outspoken
announced in a newspaper ad for the film that the release has been
postponed due to non-availability of theatres. The film finally got
released on August 30, the same year.
Ram has now sent a letter to Karthik
Subbaraj at this moment of disappointment. He has said he could very
well understand the pain of a creator when his film gets postponed after
being announced for the release date. He also had some encouraging
words for Karthik saying that ‘Jigarthanda’ film will be a success
whenever it releases. Ram also congratulated Karthik Subbaraj for the
success of the Bollywood remake of his debut film ‘Pizza’ with the same
title that has released recently.
‘Jigarthanda’ is touted as a musical gangster flick featuring Siddharth, Lakshmi Menon and Simha in important roles.
